Hello everyone! My name Is Jasmine.

Below is a little bit about me.

I work with tweens, teens, young adults, and parents from a collaborative and client centered focus. I use an integrative approach when it comes to counseling, tailoring the approaches and interventions to fit the client’s needs. Some of the common modalities I use are Mindfulness/Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Expressive Arts, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strengths Based, Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused, and Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS). I always strive to gain knowledge around new approaches and theories to offer the best support I can for my clients. I have extensive experience working with high risk children and teens experiencing a diverse range of emotional and behavioral problems at home and school, and symptoms resulting from disrupted attachment. I also have experience working with clients from minority cultures and marginalized groups.

With my client centered focus, I work hard to build a therapeutic relationship that creates a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental space for each client to be able to present themselves to their fullest potential. My priority is to guide and support each client in their journey to develop their own sense of self-love, confidence, and peace of mind and body.

I grew up in Asia, learning all of my educational studies in the primary Malay language there. I transitioned over to the States for undergraduate studies and earned my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Linfield College (now Linfield University). I then furthered my studies to gain my Masters of Arts in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis and Clark College. Growing up in another country, having knowledge and experience around a diversity of cultures allows me to be more open minded, compassionate, and humble in supporting clients through a more holistic lens. During my undergraduate, I worked at an after school program planning activities, leading and being in charge of staff in the program. After earning my Bachelors, I worked with at risk children, youth and families at a residential and day treatment setting for over 7 years while working on my Masters degree.

A couple of years after earning my Masters, I decided to pursue my Licensure which led me to working in a group practice at Firefly Institute. At Firefly, I gained knowledge and training around Play Therapy, Yoga, Narrative Therapy, and Expressive Arts as I worked with outpatient tweens, teens, young adults, parents, and families around various range of issues. Some of the issues I worked with were parenting skills, parent-child relationship issues, family conflict, anxiety, depression, behavioral issues at home/school, emotional dysregulation/outburst, coping skills, life transitions, stress, teen violence and trauma. I helped clients for over 2 years at Firefly before I decided to start my own private practice in 2020. Here I am now, happy to take this journey with you, guiding and supporting you and your family throughout this journey in life.
